Gideon Rothschild is a nationally recognized expert on wealth preservation and domestic and offshore asset protection trusts. Gideon is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) and an Academician of The International Academy of Trust and Estate Lawyers. He is a member of the Advisory Boards of BNA’s Tax Management, a past Chair of the American Bar Association’s Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section, and past Chair of the New York Chapter of the U.K. based Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
He was an Adjunct Professor at the University of Miami Law School and New York Law School Graduate Programs and has lectured frequently to professional groups including the University of Miami’s Philip Heckerling Institute, the New York University Federal Tax Institute, the New York State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Rothschild is a recipient of the prestigious Distinguished Estate Planner award from the National Association of Estate Planners and Councils and is listed in Chambers USA, Best Lawyers in America, New York Superlawyers, and Worth’s Top 100 Lawyers. Mr. Rothschild is also licensed as a Certified Public Accountant.
Mr. Rothschild is the co-author of the BNA Tax Management portfolio on Asset Protection Planning. He has also authored numerous articles for publications, including the New York Law Journal, Journal of Asset Protection, Trusts and Estates, and Estate Planning.
Prior to 2022 Mr. Rothschild was a partner with the New York City law firm of MOSES & SINGER LLP, where he co-chaired the Trusts & Estates and Wealth Preservation Group. He focused his practice in the areas of domestic and international estate planning techniques for high net worth clients and is a nationally recognized authority on wealth preservation and foreign trusts.
Prior to retiring from Moses & Singer, Gideon’s clients were high net worth individuals ranging in net worth between $10 million and more than $1 billion. Clients included real estate investors, CEOs of public companies, private equity fund principles, hedge fund managers, entrepreneurs, and closely held business owners. They have varied needs including cross-border planning, asset protection planning, estate administration, and wealth transfer planning and implementation.
